Why Your Purple Bracelet is Turning Yellow (And How to Stop It)

Did your Amethyst fade to a weird brownish-yellow? It's sun damage. Learn how to care for UV-sensitive stones and keep their color vibrant.
Have you noticed your beautiful deep purple bracelet turning a dull, yellowish-brown? Don’t panic—it’s not a weird energy shift, it’s sun damage.
The Science Bit:
Amethyst (all shades of purple quartz) gets its color from iron impurities. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight (UV rays) breaks down those color centers, causing the purple to fade and sometimes reveal a yellow or brownish undertone. It literally gets “sunburned.”

High-Risk Stones in Your Collection:
●Deep Amethyst
●Light Amethyst / Lavender Quartz
●Raw Deep Amethyst
The Fix:
Stop sunbathing your crystals! Instead, only use moonlight for cleansing. A night on the windowsill during a full moon is more than enough to recharge them without the risk. If your stone has already started to fade, move it to a dark, cool place when not worn and stick to moonlight cleansing to prevent further damage.
